The Uphill Climb to Success: ACADEMIC SHS Bags International Awards

SHS Academic delegates have bought home 16 silver medals and 5 bronze medals in a prestigious competition and their exceptional mathematical skills as each medal is a testament to the unwavering commitment to excellence and passion for Mathematics. The Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) - Heat Round 2023 is the 5th Competition in Mathematics that San Juan City Academic Senior High School has won as the school climbs upwards on the ladder of success. A total of 21 delegates from Academic SHS went to compete in The Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) - Heat Round 2023, and it would be the last competition under Olympiad Champion in Education (OCEC) and Math Olympiad Training League Inc. (MOTLI) the delegates would participate in. The HKIMO is an annual mathematics competition that attracts participants from all over the world. The competition is designed to challenge students and encourage them to develop their problem-solving skills.

The 21 delegates from Academic SHS who participated in the HKIMO - Heat Round 2023 were selected based on their exceptional mathematical abilities. They were accompanied by their teacher-coach Mr. Adrian P. Monilla, who provided guidance and support throughout the competition. Moreover, the success of the learners also represented the success of their coach, Mr. Adrian Monilla, who has been awarded as an outstanding teacher-coach, with his exceptional guidance, mentorship, and tireless efforts in shaping and nurturing the remarkable mathematical talents of our students. Likewise, the success of the learners and teacher-coach reflects how a remarkable leader the school head is, Mrs. Ma. Aileen B. Callorina, as she is eligible to receive the "Top Performing School" award at the upcoming Face to Face Awarding Ceremony on July 16, 2023, at Notre Dame Greater Manila.

Akademikos are known to thrive even with hardships. Their trainings only show how dedicated they are to winning. Despite the tough competition, the delegates from Academic SHS performed exceptionally well. They demonstrated their mathematical prowess and impressed everyone with their innovative solutions to complex problems and they have shown once again that they embodied the saying, “Basta akademiko, masigasig at pursigido”.
