SJES INTRAMURALS 2023: A DISPLAY OF EXCELLENCE, DETERMINATION, AND PASSION
The San Juan Elementary School Intramurals was held on February 22-24 2023 with the theme "Determinasyon, Pagsusumikap, Kahusayan at Kababaang Loob Tungo sa Matatag na Kabataang Pilipino. " This was the first full, in-person Intramurals, after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
After the pandemic, it is important to reconnect, rebuild, and recover. This event is an opportunity for students to come together, have fun, and support each other in a safe and healthy environment. Pupils welcomed the intramurals with excitement and energy as the event was supported by the different stakeholders from Barangay Rivera and the parents as well.
The Organizing Committee headed by the School Principal, Dr. Lloyd T. Tulaylay, carefully planned for the guaranteed success of the event together with the MAPEH Coordinator Mrs. Leah B. Cleope, and MT In-Charge, Ofelia M. Marasigan. They took all the necessary measures to ensure the safety of all participants and spectators. This included regular cleanliness of venues and strict adherence to health and safety guidelines.
The Kinder pupils had their Sportsfest and Zumba. Muses and escorts representing their sections, had a runway walk showcasing their jerseys and costumes to the audience and judges. Grades 1 to 3 learners played Laro ng Lahi with the general objective to promote and relive the cultural games of Filipinos as they displayed sportsmanship during the games. They also danced Zumba with the parents while muses and escorts paraded with their colorful costumes. Meanwhile, Grades 4 to 6 learners enjoyed the sports events like chess, badminton, volleyball, and basketball. But among all the events, volleyball was the most-anticipated segment of the Intramurals. The audience enjoyed watching how each team displayed their skills to outdo their opponents.
During the awarding ceremony, Mrs. Cleope expressed her hopes to hone again athletes who would be known in the field of sports through exemplary performance and discipline.
Finally, the winning teams and players were awarded medals and certificates with a special number from the SSC Grade 4 majorettes.
