KES - Kick-Off for Brigada Eskwela ‘23

The opening of classes for the School Year 2023-2024 is about to begin. To ensure that every public school is ready, the Department of Education (DepEd) implements the annual conduct of Brigada Eskwela. It is a nationwide school maintenance week where the partnership between the school and its stakeholders, together with the other volunteers, is formed. It aims to strengthen the camaraderie of the school in its community to deliver quality education and prepare the school for the influx of learners as the school year starts.

This year’s Brigada Eskwela ’23, with the theme “Bayanihan Para sa MATATAG Na Paaralan,” was launched on the 14th of August and will last until the 19th. It was envisioned to gather support from the stakeholders, volunteers, parents, and students for the maintenance, and repair of classrooms, laboratories, canteen, and other school facilities.

The Kabayanan Elementary School (KES) headed by the principal, Mr. Dennis M. Bacle, together with the Brigada Eskwela School Coordinator, Mrs. Ma Pebeth M. Rañin, led the launching of the Brigada Eskwela Program. It highlighted the cooperation, the spirit of Bayanihan, and the collaboration between the school and stakeholders. They freely give their time, effort, and resources for the continued delivery of quality education to help ensure the learners’ safety, convenience, and most of all, the readiness of the school for effective learning to happen.

As the old adage says, “It takes a village to teach a child.” The Brigada Eskwela is the perfect mirror for this. It is a new face of the Bayanihan spirit of the Filipinos. We are fortunate for the never-ending support from our stakeholders and, especially, the support from the local government particularly from Barangay Kabayanan and Barangay Maytunas. With all the love and support that everyone has shown, it is believed that whatever changes and challenges come, together they will all conquer!
