CLTC served as a training course for scouts who participated to know how a crew leader acts and thinks to attain good leadership skills so they can serve and become agents of change in their respective schools and communities. The course demonstrated the typical Senior Scout activities and the need for intelligent coordination of effort through five (5) different base methods: emergency transport and rescue, advanced knot tying and lashing, bandaging, compass reading and finding direction, and urban and outdoor trail signs. The training also emphasized the necessity of discipline, smartness, and good order. The participants learned the techniques of “learning through doing” by the immediate application of scouting skills acquired. It also gave the scouts the experience of leadership and practical ways toward the opportunities for leadership in scouting.
