Empowering the Senior High Through Technopreneurial and Livelihood Preparedness
February 18-22, 2019, Senior High School Division conducted the 2019 Business, Technology & Livelihood Fair for Senior High students with the theme "Empowering the Senior High through Technopreneurial and Livelihood Preparedness.” This event was a joint collaborative effort of ABM and TVL tracks with the participation of other academic strands in response to the K-12 DepEd thrust of entrepreneurial capability and readiness. This week-long fair was participated by public and private schools in San Juan City. The fair featured battle of entrepreneurial minds, a stiff feat for accounting transactions, amazing race for financial literacy and an array showcased of innovative products and technocrafts. Students, guests and participants relished, learned and earned from this five-day activity.
An Overview of the Business, Technology & Livelihood Fair for Senior High students:
Day 1, students showed innovative products during their Technopreneurs’ Fashion Show. Selected student-models ramped in the catwalk together with the innovative products from different sections while some students acted as product endorsers of the same. The school is very grateful for the Guest of Honor’s gracing the occasion – the Hon. JanellaEjercito Estrada, City Vice Mayor. Judges for the Technopreneurs’ Fashion Show is composed of Mr. Demie S. Atienza - Division Office’ Planning Officer, Ms. Theresa Rola – GPTA Officer and Mr. Juan Leonardo B. Britanico – HUMSS Teacher.
Day 2 was a big clash among the Gr. 11 – 12 ABM students who competed for the strands’ major subjects in Quiz Bee. The ABM Quiz Bee featured easy, average and difficult rounds and was facilitated by Ms. Janice L. Duterte, ABM Teacher and Ms. Maricris T. Beren, Math Teacher.
Day 3 featured participating ABM Gr. 12 from the Division’s private schools – Aquinas School, Doro Deus Integrated School, and St. John The Baptist Catholic School together our own ABM Gr. 12 learners vying for the 1st Accounting Olympics. The Technical Working Group who facilitated the competition were from the two senior high schools of the Mandaluyong Division: Mr. Noel D. Gambito from Mataas Na PaaralangNeptali Gonzales, Ms. Nancy N. Descanzo and Mr. Edward Bamboa from Andres Bonifacio Integrated Schools.
Day 4 is full of adventure, thrill and excitement as participating players from different sections played and competed while learning the financial literacy in the fun-filled Amazing Race. ABM Gr. 11 coordinated and facilitated the competition.
Everybody witnessed the groundbreaking Technopreneurs’ Exhibit Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting led by Dr. Alejandro A. Ibañez, OIC-SDS. Senior high school learners showcased and are able to sold an array of their innovative products and technocrafts in food & beverage, cosmetics, DIY products, and games. Total sales amounted to P11,880.
Other Schools Division officials and school heads presents were Ms. Amelita C. Panelo – EPS/TLE & TVL, Dr. Jay F. Macasieb – ASP II/Research Coordinator, Mr. Hernan L. Apurada – Science Coordinator, Mr. Cesar A. Camayra – Principal III. Ms. Ma. Shiella Ann M. Dalumpienes, Branch Manager of Landbank - San Juan acted as one of the panel of judges together with Ms. Hernan L. Apurada, School Division Science Coordinator and Ms. Michelle R. Cordovilla, Science Teacher. The Awarding and Closing Ceremonies was conducted in the headed by Ms. Ma. Aileen B. Callorina, Asst. Principal – SHS and Mr. Cesar A. Camayra, Principal.
The event’s success was the result of the collaborative effort of the whole Senior High with the support from the City Government led by the Office of the Vice Mayor with the City Council and also from the SHS-GPTA and other partner industries – Landbank – SJ and Shakey’sHemady.
