ALTERNATIVE LEARNING SYSTEM (ALS) MOA & SERVICE CONTRACT SIGNING

ALS Program aimed at eradicating illiteracy among out-of-schools youth and adults by developing basic literacy skills of reading, writing and numeracy. Through this program, they are given a chance to finish their elementary/secondary education.

To strengthen its implementation, the Alternative Learning System (ALS) of SDO San Juan City renewed partnerships with the local officials implementing the ALS Program through the signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Service Contract Signing on February 23, 2018, 9:00 am at Schools Division Office Conference Hall.

The ceremony started with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, with Ms. Michelle Faye B. Velasco, conducting. It was followed by Doxology led by Mrs. Hergielyn G. Cerrodo, Mobile Teacher. The Acknowledgement of Participants was done by Mr. Anselmo B. Joven, Education Program Supervisor for ALS. The Messages were given by the Mother and Father of SDO San Juan City, Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo, CESE, OIC- Office of the Schools Division Superintendent and Mrs. Flordelisa D. Pereyra,CESE, OIC-Office of the Assistant Schools Division Superintendent. Councilor Allen B. Silvano, Councilor, District II represented Mayor Guia G. Gomez for she attended an equally important event on that time.

The highlight of the day’s activity was the Signing of Memorandum of Agreement and Service Contract between the LGU Partners and DepEd San Juan City Officials headed by Dr. Joel T. Torrecampo, OIC-SDS. The following Barangay Chairmen witnessed the event; Teodoro F. Calaunan-Bgy. West Crame, Dennis B. Pardines-Bgy. San Perfecto, Ryan Llanos Dee-Bgy. Batis, Sancho S. Hicap-Bgy. Pasadena, Charles B. Tejoso-Bgy. Salapan, Gerardo R. Gorayeb-Bgy.Balong-Bato, Herbert O. Chua-Bgy. Addition Hills, Artemio C. Samson, Bgy. Maytunas, Wilfredo F. Reyes- Bgy. Rivera, Carlos T. Yam-Bgy. GreenHills, Nelly D. Duka-Bgy. St. Joseph, Ruel C. Sumaguingsing-Bgy. Corazon De Jesus, Edgar A. Corre-Bgy. Isabelita, Francis D. Ocampo-Bgy. Pedro Cruz, Carmencita H. Sto. Domingo-Bgy. Progreso and Christopher Punzalan-Bgy. Kabayanan.

Barangay Chairman Ruel Sumaguingsing, Secretary, Association of Barangay Captains of San Juan City led the expression of support and commitment.

Dr. Felicito M. Angeo, Chief, School Governance Operation Division (SGOD) was given the task to give the Closing Remarks.

Mr. Erwin C. Dela Cruz, one of the ALS Mobile Teachers served as the Master of Ceremonies.

Our Local Government Unit headed by Mayor Guia G. Gomez consistently supports the ALS Program of San Juan City by providing venues, additional educational materials for students in closed coordination with the different Barangay Captains in the city. They also opened the PUP San Juan for the tertiary education of the ALS TEST Passers for free. Just recently, a Moving –Up Ceremony of the thirty (30) ALS Passers in the Bureau of Jail Management and Penelogy (BJMP) was held on March 19, 2018. The growing number of ALS learners on completing the program proves that our partnership with the LGU generated better results for the benefit of our youth and adults.
