Election and Oath – taking of Division General Parents – Teachers Association
Parents play an important role in the education of their children. Bringing up a child is a voyage, and as parents, they are the key navigator of their children’s growth. Their development is set primarily at home and in school, and when these two environments are attuned to each other, the child benefit the most.
According to James P. Corner and Norris Haynes, children learn best when the significant adults in their lives – parents, teachers, and other family and community members - work together to encourage and support them. This basic fact should be a guiding principle as we think about how school operations be managed and how children should be taught. Schools alone cannot address all of a child's developmental needs: the meaningful involvement of parents and support from the community is essential.
The active participation of both parents and educators is what makes school – home collaboration a simple, yet vital and powerful concept.
To strengthen the Home – School Partnership, the Schools Division Office of San Juan City conducted the Election of Division General Parents – Teachers Association for School Year 2015 – 2016 last July 29, 2015 at the Schools Division Superintendent’s Office. This happened through the initiative of School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) headed by its Chief, Mr. Virgilio A. Santos, the Social Mobilization, Networking and Linkages Area consists of Mr. Orlando D. Claor, Senior Education Program Specialist and Mr. Demie S. Atienza, Education Program Specialist II.
Dr. Lydia C. Abeja, Chief of Curriculum Implementation Division (CID) graced the event and delivered the inspirational message. Dr. Victoria M. Parambita, Education Program Supervisor in Araling Panlipunan facilitated the election; while, Ms. Kate Hanna Cabral, Administrative Officer IV welcomed the participants.

The Oath – taking of newly elected officers was conducted after the flag raising ceremonies and in front of the City Local Government Officials and Personnel last November 16, 2015 at the San Juan City Hall. Honorable Guia G. Gomez, City Mayor led the oath taking.
